Katina’s platform, Don’t Hesitate to Evaluate: Autism Acceptance through Early Intervention, focuses on educating families about developmental milestones and the importance of early diagnosis. She is pursuing a master’s degree in psychology with a concentration in applied behavior analysis, with the goal of becoming a board certified behavior analyst. A dedicated advocate, Katina led the declaration of Autism Awareness Month in Pike County, Kentucky, and launched eastern Kentucky’s first autism awareness event in 2009. Outside of her advocacy and studies, she enjoys thrift shopping, sewing, and movie nights with her son, and she’s currently preparing for her oldest son’s December wedding. In addition to winning the National Mrs. title, she was also the Fitness and Runway award winner for her division. Her determination, enthusiasm, and tender heart shine through in everything she does.
